Meet our Authors

Mary Ann Ordinario

Mary Ann Ordinario is the founder and the directress of ABC Educational Development Center in Kidapawan City. She graduated from the Philippine Women's University with the degree of Bachelor of Arts major in Mass Communication. She underwent training on Early Childhood Education at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City. She was a former broadcaster, scripwriter and research head of the DXND Notre Dame of Broadcasting Corporation in Central Mindanao. She is an active member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, (Washington D.C.), the International Reading Association (Delaware), the Director's Association of Early Childhood Education (Minnesota), the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (Los Angeles) and the National Book and Development Board. She is the author of 15 books. Among her best known works are: El and Ey - CMMA (Catholic Mass Media Awards) Best Short Story for Children and War Makes Me Sad - CMMA Best Short Story for Children and used in therapy sessions for war - stricken

children in Mindanao, and read by KC Concepcion as United Nations World Food Programme Ambassador for Read-Along. Her book the Crying Trees was also read by Environment Advocate Loren Legarda on the eve of World Environment Day. Her book My Muslim Friend was translated into Nipponggo by the Christian Child Welfare Association in Japan. Her eight books were translated into Bahasa and distributed in Asian countries. Jonamari Kristin O. Floresta

When Jonamari Kristin was four years old, she received various awards like Best in Talent, Best in Speech and in Science. She was an honor student from pre-school to high school and a dean's lister in college. She also won in oration and declamation competitions in school. 

 

She was awarded as The Most Outstanding Student in Journalism. She won 1st place in Feature Writing, Photojournalism and Broadcasting in the Regional and National Schools Press Conference. Her Story Somebody Is Eating The Chocolate Hills became a finalist in the RCBC Kuwentong Kalikasan, Katha ng Kabataan. She is a registered nurse. Earlier, she dreamed of becoming a doctor to help others but the calling to write for children and to teach them is in her heart. She's currently doing three things at the same time -- writing stories, working as finance head of RNF Summit, handling spelling classes for children and earning a Doctor's Degree in Educational Administration at the University of Sydney.
